Kobe Creates a Blog for His Chinese Fans

It’s true that Kobe Bryant can’t speak Chinese. However, This Los Angeles Lakers player’s blog can be enjoyed soon by his fans in that country in their own language.
Of course Kobe will not write Chinese. Kobe will write in English, but later on it will be translated into Chinese
It is SINA.com that will do the translation. Kobe has just signed a contract with the popular site in China to write his blog in the country.
This contract was made because of the big enthusiasm of Chinese people to NBA. Kobe is very popular there, even equals to the local hero, Yao Ming (Houston Rockets).
“when I was a child, even in my wildest dream I never imagined that I would have many fans on the other side of earth, in Beijing and Shanghai,” he said as reported by AFP.
“They know everything about me and my family. We experienced a great moment in Beijing Olympic. They treated me very nice,” said the 30 years old basketball player.
Kobe’s blog will be showing up in the site that is dedicated especially for him and Lakers. The blog will be translated into Chinese by SINA.com under that agreement.
“What I’m going to write on my BlackBerry is just the English version,” he said again.
In the launching that was held in Los Angeles, Kobe was wearing Chinese traditional suit. A room in a bar magically turned into a traditional Chinese house, complete with the red door.
Kobe is the second NBA basketball player that launched his personal site through SINA after Yi Jianlian (New Jersey Nets) being the first. SINA claimed that 40% from the sports readers are NBA fans. SINA and Kobe didn’t mention how much this agreement worth.
