Rafael Nadal played steady on the day of the ninth Grand Slam Wimbledon

Defending champion Rafael Nadal’s win over Mardy Fish, while Roger Federer fell from Jo-Wilfred Tsonga in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon on Wednesday (29 / 6).

Top seed Nadal of Spain 6-3 6-3 5-7 6-4 win over tenth seed Mardy Fish of the United States.

Nadal will face British world number one Andy Murray in the semifinals on Friday (1 / 7).

Shown on the ninth day of Wimbledon, Nadal seemed unaffected by the foot injury he experienced when defeated Juan Martin del Potro in the match on Monday (27 / 6).

He bombarded the flagship Fish and serve with hard groundstrokes.

“After the first two sets, I probably played too defensive, but I am happy to get into the semifinals, this is a dream for me” Nadal said in a televised interview after the fight.

Murray assured of qualifying for the semifinals after a 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in a match against Spaniard Feliciano Lopez on Wednesday.

Previous champions six times grand slam at Wimbledon, Roger Federer, eventually foundered, though ahead in the first two sets when faced Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

This is the first time that Federer lost the advantage two sets in Grand Slam.

Tsonga will next face second-seeded Novak Djokovic, who won over the players who played through the qualifiers, Bernard Tomic of Australia, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.
