Sports Day in Vienna: The Youth Games were in that location

On September 26 2009 the Youth Olympic Games 2012 exhibited their event on the stage of Vienna”s Heldenplatz for Sports Day in Austria unitedly with the majority of the domestic sports federations to playfully convey their sports with their numerous stars especially to many families and young people. A total of 400,000 visitors arrived in the capital and showed their enthusiasm.

The Youth Olympic Games 2012 continued their successful programme like at the Youth Day in Innsbruck. The Youth Games team was backed up in Vienna by DJ Stefan Obermaier, who with his musical contributions scored especially among teens. In total, several thousand visitors informed themselves at the booth of the Youth Games on the upcoming Olympic event in Austria. Among them were the founder of Austrian beach volleyball, Oliver Stamm, lugers Nina Reithmayer and Daniel Pfister as well as the Double World Junior Champions 2004 Peter Penz and Georg Fischler.

Nina Reithmayer (artificial track, 4th overall World Cup 2009) was pleased about the Youth Games 2012 in Innsbruck: “Especially for young athletes, it is important to participate in big events. This is how the motivation and ambition for training grows and it gives you the right “kick” in order to provide world class performances.”

The Youth Games 2012 organizers drew a positive conclusion. Over 500 attendees participated in the contest and give-aways of posters and gummy bears put a smile on the visitors’ faces.
